[Q2 2025] Last quarter at Google. On to next steps

Hey Reader,

I am leaving Google today after almost 6 years. I have worked with great people, launched stuff (2 features this quarter). I am collecting my top 10 learnings to publish this week.

Technology corner

Spent the quarter playing with AI on various workflows (marketing, research, inbox/calendar). The current stack is Claude + n8n (also having ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity constantly opened to do side by side comparison). When workflows are robust enough, I'll share them here. They are things that are easily transferable from the founder use case.

The other topic I binged on podcasts was AI monetization. Summary: Everybody is figuring this out in real time. I found the discussion of Dropbox Dash versus Glean on 20VC podcast interesting. Bolt-on AI and Built-in AI are not in the same category necessarily. Paid.ai playbook and their podcast were my go to.

For those of us interested in digital sovereignty, MSFT announcement for EU is one of the few highlights. It's both new but does not necessarily move the needle. I plan to do a deep dive in the next few weeks. Cyber resilience is definitely a hot topic in EU (found this article useful).

Articles / videos

Some books

  • The back of the napkin -> Visual thinking for beginners
  • Almanach of Naval Ravikant
  • Les ambitions inavouées -> Some geopolitics basics (USA, UK, France, Germany, China, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia)
  • The great mental models, General thinking concepts
  • Systemology
  • Chips war -> Gread read to understand the value chain. So integrated. Good luck to untangle.

Starting next month, I'll expand more on my notes.

Untill then, create, connect and share !
